Andy Murray should use a lot of top spin to Ferrer's backhand and attack every single serve like he's capable of doing if he wants to win this match. Ferrer is going to get everything back, especially if he keeps hitting the ball so flat.

Eh I'm not really interested in these "since" records. I'm here for a real record, like her being the oldest GS champion ever. And in singles because it's near impossible to beat Navratilova's overall record (she was like 45 when she finally won the boxed grand slam in mixed) so that's not gonna happen for a while

Isn't grass the fastest surface? I know it used to be at least so if Murray actually hit the ball flat, someone like Ferrer shouldn't be able to get the ball back . I do agree he needs some top spin, and slice since it's effective on grass and it could get Ferrer off his rhythm
I just don't think doubles will have a negative effect considering tomorrow. It's not that exhausting physically nor mentally, and after all, she gets some good practice for tomorrow.

Is it? I thought hard courts were faster, being that Venus has more time to set up her forehand on grass. But Ferrer is no ordinary player. He still gets everything back (with interest) on flat groundstrokes, no matter what surface he's playing on. The top spin shot would be my go to shot for him, it's the reason why he can't beat Rafa who's equally as fast. IMO
