I am pretty much sure Payphone won't hit #1 on BBHot100.
Not this week, and after this week, there's no way it could.
They might have tried, but not as convincingly as they would have had to.
Probably the force of Payphone surprised them for first; and it's gonna be a further surprise when they will realise they put out One More Night WAY too soon.
Until Payphone slows down (more than now) it's a waste to have another great single out (which is better than Payphone actually) because its radio airplay and sales are gonna get sucked off by the first single for a certain time, enough to kill any chance for the second song to explode conveniently.
I think Maroon5 underestimated both the force of their first single AND the album.
If they would have come out with Overexposed in whatever other week beside Linkin Park or Bieber debut, they would have hit #1 also on BB200.
It will be "the second place stuck era".
