From what I have seen, people who download games, other software or music do so because they can’t afford to buy same. It may not be legal to do so, but their actions do not hurt the authors/distributors. If the practice is stopped, these folks are not going to run out and buy the product – they can’t afford it. They will very likely find another way to get that hot song or cool game. If not then they will simply do without. Either way, the industry is not going to see a marked increase in sales.
