I honestly have no idea what's good for her label but Katy doesn't seem to like
the idea and she's one of EMI's top (if not top) artists so doesn't she have some kind of say
in this?

Well, Katy may be their top artist right now but basically she's like another employee (their best employee of course

). They could listen to her opinion about this, but the final decision is up to the shareholders, the ones who really invest money in the company. Unless Katy owns shares or holdings of the company, there's no way she can have impact in the final decision. If she doesn't like the idea she's free to leave Capitol, but we all know that would be stupid since she's the Queen there. While her team stays the same, everything will be fine. Actually, when a big company puchases another big one, the people working there just stay there. Of course there will be changes, but nothing really huge.
