We (the fans) get news about her everyday, so we definitely know she's not irrelevant because she got the tour and stuff, but the general public doesn't know those things, so she's on a total blackout for them (especially for the North American, South American and European people, since she didn't tour these places yet and the media didn't talk much about her lately).
The fans don't get bored of her, because they know what she's doing and they know she isn't dead, but the general public which doesn't give a **** about tour photos and searchig tour videos on youtube disn't get any news about her since she dosen't have a music video on tv, or a new single on radio. Perhaps some of them even think her music career is over. Marry The Night was a flop so a lot of people didn't even know it's her latest single, You And I was a flop everywhere besides the US, so her last single most of the general public acknowledges is The Edge Of Glory, which was released more than a year ago...
She needs to do something because nobody expect her fans know that she's actually doing something and that she's not ****ing around or laying in bed at home...and we all know the best thing she could do to get people's attention back is release a good single...
