Your point has validity but it isn't entirely fair to call her out on. Bullying someone over their orientation is different from their other lifestyle choices or personal habits. There's a much bigger problem with awareness and understanding of homosexuality and gay acceptance that demands a greater attention. Having a bully come to grips with a person dressing differently, for example, would be a million times easier than having a bully respect someone's orientation. As a person that works every day in a high school, I can guarantee you this.
It's a part of bullying that requires more attention and due to that, she has limited herself in a way. It's not meant to ostracize or ignore bullying of other reasons and I'm sure she'd admit that. There are more options to help a person being bullied for other lifestyles/habits out there, so she's probably more focused on helping the reasons that don't have as much help available.
