Kelly turned down recording contracts before she even auditioned for AI because they wanted her to lose weight and various other things which she didn't want to do. So don't try the whole Taylor did it without AI card, educate yourself first please.

An ATRL poll doesn't mean that Kelly is more talented than Taylor. All people have different views on the word talent, whether it means vocals, songwriting, performing, etc. And it just so happens that my view on talent gears more towards Taylor than Kelly. But I still love Kelly

she didn't get a record deal immediatly. she got turned down cause she couldn't sing well enough. they told her to come back when she can write music. She did that and thats when she got a deal.
Yes kelly is very talented and I love her voice and some of her songs. But I love Taylor more and I definitely think that Taylor is very talented as well. It all comes down to preferences. I've seen a lot of people going big because of great voices but it's rare for me to see someone going big in the music industry because of their talents other than their voice. I have always been impressed with a musician who knows how to play different instruments and writes their own material and that's why I chose Taylor. How many people in the world are good songwriters? And how many people in the world can sing like Kelly ****ing Clarkson? I think being an enormously talented vocalist is much more special and compelling than being a good songwriter (she is no where near amazing like some stans make it seem). That's because RCA put her in an artist development deal and they want her to record materials of other songwriters and they were waiting for her to turn 18 before releasing an album and that is why Taylor left RCA when she was fifteen.

Actually that's the opposite.
Look at every top 40 artist of the past 2-3 decades. Only a handful of those people can deliver a great live vocal performance. Case in point... Mili Vanilli - won a freakin' Grammy and they weren't even the real singers to their own songs. In this industry it's more about image than vocal talent.
My point is Taylor has amazing songwriting skills, gifted with instruments, and has a good voice.
Vocal talent isn't just about the highest notes one can reach. Taylor has an angelic sweet voice. She sings her song with emotions. That's why she won two Grammys in the vocal performance department over Carrie even with her great vocals. Because singing ain't just about screaming. Emotion counts too you know. Bye.

Kelly covered a different song at every stop and all the reviewers said how great it was and how it seemed like that song belonged to her.

She could have easily requested songwriting credit on her biggest hits like SUBG and WDKY but she didn't. As she changed the vocal arrangement on SUBG and she changed a few lyrics in WDKY. Even the songs she's listed as a co-writer sometimes she's the sole writer. For instance, Irvine. She wrote the lyrics and medley and her guitarist, Aben, wrote the music totally separately and Kelly thought that the music went perfectly with what she had written.
And the argument of "musician" is rather dumb. Kelly knows how to play several instruments (piano, guitar, violin) but doesn't do it often live. Her band members will be the first to tell you that Kelly will tell them which chords she wants in certain songs. Kelly's musical director always says that Kelly is the one that comes up with the live rearrange of the songs as well. He even said she was the one that did the rearrangement to Already Gone this past tour. Keep in mind the intro is a seven piece a capella arrangement!!

Girl did I discredit Kelly's voice? All I'm saying is it's not always about great vocals. Taylor has a voice that fits into her songs perfectly and that was what grammy saw when they gave her vocal performance awards. Taylor has talent in her voice range and the kind of singing that she does and Carrie and Kelly obviously have in their own department.
