I was expecting him to open with more than what BTW opened with minus the Amazon sales, but this is still impressive. I wonder if it'll have longevity or not.
JUSTIN TIME: Look for Justin Bieber’s IDJ album Believe to debut with more than 400k in sales next week, an impressive total by any measure, which would make it the year’s biggest bow. With sales brisk, insiders are even wondering if a “5” could go in front of that total. Nice work for Team Weiss/Bartels and manager Scooter Braun. Stay tuned to hitsdailydouble.com for more. (6/19p)
It will go up and the "I'm laughing" posts will mysteriously disappear.
I'm not going to stop laughing unless it hits 1.1 million, because I had some Bieber stan try to tell me it would outsell BTW's opening even with the Amazon sales.

Well get a better sense of humor.

It's going to be the top opening album of the year (possibility of going higher), likely the top seller behind Adele by the end of the year (factoring his usual longevity amongst all of his releases thus far), etc. Just because an album is highly anticipated doesn't mean it has to open with 5 million copies in its first week. It's delivering on that title.

I wouldn't laugh too hard, because it will outsell Born This Way with or without a mammoth debut.

I don't really care how much it sells in the end. Nobody was expecting it to sell less - Bieber's fanbase is too big and he appeals more to the main music-buying demographic. Being pressed over his sales would be like being pressed that "Call Me Maybe" outsold "Born This Way".

Sales so far this entire year have been either ****** or disappointing.

Would 400-500k for Bieber really be "******" or "disappointing"? In any year, 400-500k would be a strong opening. People were just expecting too much for Bieber. I don't think his appeal stretches that far.
