I mean, if we want to talk about the best female lyricist, I'd have to point you to the decade of critical acclaim for Emily Haines.
Even if lana only wrote 60% of her stuff, the final product is still extremely polished and extremely thought provoking. Some of the best lyrics of the last 3 years for me have come from BTD.
+ Video Games was written by her which showcases her writing talent.
. Lana sold 77k of her album first week (for a #2 position) in the US on the back of the SNL debacle and not even a sniff of a hit single, let alone a #1. And this is (relatively speaking) one of her weakest markets (perhaps we can also look at the UK, Germany, France etc etc next time?). You've dug yourself a huge hole but, amazingly, seem to be happy to carry on digging...
I swear, there could be a Michael Jackson vs. Lana poll, and somehow her delusional stans would still find ways to argue that she's better. Y'all need to get your heads out of her butt and stop overrating her to the high heavens. Something tells me that five years from now you guys won't even remember going this hard for her.
