It only feels like she's been taking a long time because her last song impacted radio over a year ago. She wasn't really present for 2011 with music as she was touring. Realistically, she hasn't been taking that long considering she only really started recording a few months ago. Full-length studio albums take quite some time to complete. It's a lengthy purpose, and considering she has a concept or some sort of ambition for this album, it may take a little longer than usual.
