Not content with having rapidly become the biggest boy band in the world, the lads from One Direction are now reported to have set their sights on movie stardom too.
The Sun newspaper reports that Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are keen to star in their own film.
The paper quotes Harry as saying: “Movies are something we would consider. But it would have to be what we want.
“We would love to do Romeo And Juliet, as depicted by One Direction, and we should play the parts — Niall would be Juliet!”
And dutiful Niall was happy to oblige, saying: “I don’t really mind playing Juliet, if I’m honest. I’d do whatever is good for the group.
“I’m there. We are all there for each other.”
Asked who they would like to play them in a film about their lives, Harry picked Orlando Bloom, Liam picked Taylor Lautner from Twilight, Niall chose Tom Felton, Louis picked Leonardo DiCaprio and Zayn chose his bandmate Louis.
We told you yesterday how Harry had admitted wanting to shave his hair off.
Olly Murs has joined One Direction for a gig on their current tour of the US and Canada.
Former The X Factor contestant Olly flew out to Canada early this week and joined 1D on stage in Toronto with a support slot on Tuesday.
And the happy Essex chappy, 28, was snapped larking about with Niall Horan backstage – appearing to play catch with one of Olly’s trademark hats.
After the gig Olly tweeted: “Wow!! Thanks @onedirection fans for an amazing night! Didn’t expect such an awesome reception!! Blown away!! Now watching the lads.”
He later added: “TORONTO RULES!!!”
Olly has also been added to the bill of the iTunes Festival – a month-long series of concerts happening at the end of the summer.
He will play the Camden Roundhouse on September 3 and told Metro newspaper about his plans for the gig.
He said: “I am going to bring my live nine-piece band and hope that I too can put on a great show.
“I went to see Chase & Status last year for their iTunes Festival gig and it was a brilliant atmosphere.
“It’s an amazing event to be part of and one that I have always wanted to play.”
We told you yesterday that 1D have been discussing the possibility of making a movie.
The boys wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to every single member of the 1D Family who took part in yesterday’s DVD Watch Party to celebrate the release of Up All Night-The Live Tour! Did you have fun? Because we certainly did! You’re all amazing and we couldn’t have made it such a success without all our Directioners!
