Like A Virgin, True Blue, Ray Of Light, Confessions On A Dancefloor and The Immaculate Collection were WAY bigger than BOMT (a 'huge peak' according to atrl) outside the US
No comment on the Bey part
Even the most deflated of sales reports have BOMT above Like a Virgin and Ray of Light, and Confessions On a Dancefloor wasn't even close. Why are we suddenly counting out the U.S. too? That makes no sense.
What? I was talking about artists who were once making non-generic music suddenly making generic music, not people who were already part of these trends to begin with. And "American dance pop" was not a trend in 2001/2002 when Shakira got big, nor is that what the album sounds like. I don't know where that came from.
Laundry Service was still her most mainstream album
The lifespan of a popstar has seriously diminished. Who would have thought Katy Perry/Fadga would be over so soon ?
Right. I think social media/globalisation caused it. Now if a pop girl makes a career-ending mistake, such as including nazi imagery in their vidyas, the news spreads fast.

If anything, social media and globalization have both helped pop stars. Taylor is thriving atm because of so, and she's been in the game for almost ten years. 1989 is also her most global era

IckyGarbaj was over before even ThePissPrint era began but I agree with your point.
