This whole article is basically saying that the reason for ignorant trending topics on Twitter is based on the fact that there are so many black people on there.
I see I'll have to write this Ms Gawker website a letter.

Back in the mid-2000s, MySpace experienced something like "white flight" as wealthier, whiter users came to see it as a digital "ghetto" full of child molesters and headed for the literally lighter-colored Facebook. But Twitter seems to be doing just fine in fostering a diverse user base while not making anyone too uncomfortable (or, rather, making everyone equally uncomfortable all the time.) Perhaps this heralds a new golden era of E-race relations! Stupid hashtags like #thingsblackpeopledo and #fatindiebands living side-by-side in the trending topics.

I'm talking about the study, conducted by Northwestern University, a respected institution of research and higher learning in this country. I can't account for Gawker's dumb ass and the things they choose to write.

Which facts? Find them for me. Because outside of the survey statistics which by the way we don't have hard numbers for, the rest is ********. There were 505 students, how many of them were black? How many of them grew up in urban neighborhoods? This is the point im making, the survey they did proved absolutely nothing, because Twitter is filled with way more black youth than that surveys answers compiled. And as far as your Broadband internet argument, it's not only false, but its also very ignorant and racist, because you instantly associated the words low-income with African American families.

So say that was the case, Why would this boy post THIS article out of all the others?

Honey, doing a research about ethnicity/race on twitter or any social media is not racist. I do think the article is kinda flamebaiting but the research is not wrong.

I wonder a lot of things, for instance why white women used to lie like black men raped them if they were caught with them, so they wouldn't get in trouble. Should we go around America doing a survey on that and then posting the results on an internet forum about music?

Then went on to say while Whites moved on to Facebook, the blacks and *PAUSE* child molesters remained on MySpace making it a "digital ghetto."

This is not a racist comment, but more of what I've observed.
A lot of Black people always pulls out the 'race' card....They always feel like the victim and that every conflict between a White and a Black guy has to do with the White guy being racist..............

They also researched White, Asians, etc population in Twitter, it's just that there are more Black people in Twitter that's why it became the headline. It'd be boring for them to title the article 'White People #2 in Twitter account'.
Have you gone to school? They always ask you to check the box of the race you belong to. It's not racism, it's a survey to study demographics.

When you are done, some of the things said were racist. There is no if, ands, or buts about it. Stereotypes exist in the last paragraph, and the fact that this was even brought up once again proves the racist undertone in the context. You don't just sit around and wonder why so many black people are in a certain place without having a problem with it, which the writer clearly does. He made that clear by usage of shade and finger pointing, and he made it very clear when he brought up the Myspace thing from a decade ago just to further insult us.

But what kind of useful outcome do the results produce?
I don't get it

THEY are saying that white people left myspace because of child molesters and are trying to veil it behind "well, that's what white people said." That means they're saying the child molesters are not white if they all left for Facebook. And they added the word "ghetto" for the extra punch to left you know that they're not referring to Asians or white Latinos.
If you don't understand the underlying shade and underhanded insults then I shall pray for you. Have a blessed night.

And where are the statistics for this? I failed to see the numbers crunched on that quote. I did however get the feeling that he himself, and his friends might have felt that way hence the reason he said it, remembered it, and brought it up. And the fact that he included it with the words, child molester, and ghetto, proves my point to be a valid one.
