Yes... I don't enjoy Bedtime Stories that much, most of its songs are very similar - they're not bad, but it gets a little tiring. However, its singles are among Madonna's best: Secret, Human Nature, Bedtime Story and Take a Bow are all

Maybe because it was her least accessible album up to then. The thing though that people don't realize is that if she had gone the safe way back then she would fade. Her popularity back then rocketed to the sky. Negative popularity?. Yes. Nevertheless popularity. Erotica is an iconic record way ahead of its time. First time a female person in the american culture declared herself sexual viable woman in such a direct and revolutionary way. Not only that though. The thing that annoyed most though is that she proved that all ppl are extremely sexual beings. Forced them to look in the mirror and the society of america couldn't handle it back then. The critisism and the bashing she had was very shocking. Much more shocking than Madonna's album. it touched very sensitive chords I guess.

That's fine, I'm not trying to diss the album at all, I'm just saying her sales definitely suffered with it in a very clear way.
