I'm broken. This is just so heartbreaking and saddening. I'm truly embarrassed and ashamed of what occurred yesterday and early this morning. I love and support many of the communities that have been and may be hurt by this. We still have each other guys, nothing will stop the love and support we share among ourselves.

Honestly, so disappointed, discouraged, disheartened. Hillary fought an amazing campaign, she literally fought until she couldn't stand. Had every dirty trick thrown at her and stayed resilient and determined.
There are so many contributing factors at play here. The silent (ashamed) surprise voters, the third party vote-snatchers, the troll candidates/voters, the voter suppression, the media's bias coverage.. There's honestly nothing else she could have done to secure a win, she did everything.
What makes me sad is the huge amount of people who accept, encourage and perpetuate such horrible vitriol from a candidate. The amount of things this man has been allowed to get away with.
- Racist comments (sued for racism and lost twice)
- Threats to overturn gay marriage
- Transphobia
- Sued for child rape (13 year old girl)
- Over 10 women accusing him of sexual assault
- Bragging about sexual assault on video
- Misogyny/Sexism
- Xenophobia/Islamophobia
- Mocking the disabled
- Childish tantrums on social media
- Attacks on the media
- No concrete plans at all
- Personal attacks
The list is quite literally, endless. Donald Trump and Mike Pence are the biggest threat to our democracy in the western world. When I think about the millions of innocent people who will suffer under this Nazi-like regime they're about to impose, it really gives me a heavy heart.
We seriously need to evaluate our political education systems (US&UK), because for the second time this year, uneducated white people have ruined everything for the rest of us.
Despite her flaws (yes she had them, but not comparable to Trumps), Hillary had good intentions. She has done and could have done great things and I think that she will continue to fight for people (although not run again). The standard Hillary has been held to is completely unfair, and yes, sexist. Period.
The next 4 years will be a disaster, I plan to pretend Trump doesn't exist. He's not welcome over here in the UK either!

I agree with all of this. It's so sad how it all went down

And what happens when it's time for the SC to decide on future issues we may have and it's filled with more conservative than Liberal judges? Didn't think this through, did you?
|
One of Trump's potential picks is a gay man who supports marriage equality It was literally conservative justices that helped push marriage equality into law
When will you people wake up and realize Trump's election trail comments about conservative Supreme Court justices was the ultimate ploy to appeal to conservative voters?

Do you think they'll try to reverse the equal marriage decision? I wouldn't put it past Pence.

I believe one of them is going to be retiring soon, and I don't see RBG remaining on the Supreme Court for long under a Trump presidency, given the backlash she's received for even commenting on his candidacy.

Protections could be theoretically removed (I don't see it but it could ) but discriminatory legislation is not realistic at all

Yea I kind of got this since the entire cycles. Unless you are liberal people tend to give zero ****s about social issues

How is everyone holding up? I am trying to come to terms with a President Trump... and a red House.. and senate.. I am waiting for a miracle but nothing is coming.
Hillary is speaking at 9:30 ET. I don't even know if I can watch. My heart is broken. I liked this woman. She deserved this.

Exactly this. Trump's 4 years are going to be dominated by the economy, trade, and international affairs. The end.

Take a look on the ****ing bright side and wake up to the fact that most of what Trump has been saying on the election trail for was a blatant appeal to as many conservative voters as he could, which he knew he needed to win the election.
If you really truly believe Trump's first plan of action is going to be repealing gay marriage and Roe v. Wade you're out of your mind. Trump has had nothing but respectful comments to say about gays and equality for many, many, many years.
Wish people would be more optimistic about this. Hillary wasn't going to be the queen holy savior of this country like some people were making her out to be, and neither is Trump, but at least Trump knows how to surround himself with talented, knowledgeable, experienced people and get **** done. It's not about respecting this community Its about staying positive and hopeful for the next 4 years
|
There is nothing to be positive and hopeful about. Even if he didn't mean what he said to "drum up conservative support," the fact that those racist, sexist individuals make up the majority of our country's voting population should be cause for concern.

Omg some of you gays are so deluded when it comes to the GOP platform.
Look up Matt Baume and get educated You half-wits. There's nothing pro-gay about the GOP. They're just using you to avoid importing refugees.

Everybody's been talking about it here in my country all morning. Everyone I've talked to was truly shocked and terrified. America looks so dumb now.

I kinda feel better about my country's mess this year now, so at least that's something
I'm less pessimistic than others, we'll see
And I mean sure Hillary was better but that's not an accomplishment, I'm not surprised she lost.
