This is a really sad point. The rust belt gave Trump the presidency because he gave them an empty promise of new manufacturing jobs. Those jobs will never come. Their foolish decision was for nothing.

I can't believe this blog is shutting down. This is a disaster!

Anemic turnout from African Americans in Eastern North Carolina + Disproportionate margins in some western Piedmont counties caused NC to go for Trump. A few counties in the economically depressed Southeastern part of the state went to Trump.

Hopefully the next candidate will be able to resonate with people of all socioeconomic. If counties in Southeastern NC like Robeson, Bladen and Richmond stay red, then it's going to be tough for NC to remain a swing state, even with Growth in the urban areas.



It's disappointing, but it's a learning experience.
