I'm not melting down though, I feel like this will have longevity which is most important. I also feel like it's the type of lead that will make people interested in a full album - and most importantly, I believe Gaga and Bobby both know and understand this.

Wait why are you still here? Take a breath while your choking on your dad's dick, swallowing your potential brothers and sisters, sis. It's not cute the way you're obsessing and lingering in this thread. I'll see you the next time Beyonce has a REAL hit single.

Yes, the bridge is definitely the most brilliant part of the song. The background vocals are everything.

I'd imagine celebrating having her new single out after over half a year of basically hardly stopping recording, preparing for her promo in the US this upcoming week and finishing the last few tidbits of the record.
Meanwhile what are you doing?

Pop artists like Zara, Dua, Ariana, Gaga all seem to struggle with sales when they have fantastic, melodic, well thought out and all round great singles out, meanwhile the latest garage remix, tropical house mush or Britain's Got Talent finalist warbling a cover of an originally fantastic Robyn song reaches top 10 instantly. And it's not like I'm not supportive of new artists (hell, I've named two in the paragraph alone) nor do I denounce the new charting system. It's just sad at the moment that artists that work hard are, in my opinion, not being recognised.

I completely agree. The UK charts are very, very weak at the moment in terms of quality. I think Gaga has a much better chance with the album.

Let me stay away from this thread for a while. I need to enjoy the song, not its chart positions.

The GP were served burnt casserole and they said NOPE.
ARTPOP era really was a massive roadblock. I feel sorry for her, but I feel like she wants this at this point.

I'd describe this track as a roller-coaster. A rocky ride. It's not simplistic at all, which from my earlier posts leading up to the era, is what I was expecting from a Ronson-produced track but with the team, they've created something rather fantastic...
The bass doesn't transcend on the radio as well. It's more of a club banger, and those vocals are meant to be loud and aggressive. The disco tracks of the 80s weren't all calm, this is supposed to get you off your chair. Have fun. Sing along.
High like amphetamine, maybe you're just a dream

I love the song but the moment I heard it I knew it wasn't going to be a hit anywhere. What were you guys thinking?
Oh and the videos with the song playing on a club... it sounds awful there.
Anyway, you shouldn't have had those high expectations, now they're coming for all of you.

iTunes is not even that relevant for the UK market, streaming and in particular Spotify is more important there.
She will be fine there with time.

Where are you?
Cause I can't see you
It was a perfect illusion
But I feel you watchin' me
Dilated, falling free
In a modern ecstasy
Where are you?
Cause I can't see you
It was a perfect illusion
But I feel you watchin' me
But I feel you watchin' me
Illusion
But I feel you watchin' me
Mistaken for love
Where were you
Cause I can't see
But I feel you watchin' me
Mistaken for love
Dilated, falling free
In a modern ecstasy
Mistaken for love
In a modern ecstasy
In a modern ecstasy
BACKGROUND VOCALS PUSH THE **** THROUGH

Amen to this The music that has been smashing lately seems, on the whole, quite lazy. I'm excited to see genuine artists coming back to the forefront again in Q4.

It will do what it does, and monitoring how far it drops isn't going to change that. Why don't we post when it's doing GOOD? This thread should be positive and happy.

Right?!
Monsters need to be more like the Hive. Gaga hasn't had a #1 since 2011 and I'll be surprised if she has another one. Let's just enjoy the song. It's generally well received, Gaga has a good team behind her, and the song is actually good

On first listen I thought it had a strange structure as a song, but in reality, apart from the lack of pre-chorus (which isn't that odd) it's pretty standard. it's the speed at which it rockets through it all that is the part that makes it so fantastic. I mean, the chorus occurs before 30 seconds and by 1:20 the bridge is looming. The tempo is also pretty high despite it not feeling like a typical EDM uptempo.
I'm also so glad we have a song from Gaga that isn't a rock cover that she can finally get her teeth into live. I'm sure many fans will be disappointed but I don't want choreography for this in performances. Give her a mic with a wire and let her go bat **** cray.
A cute performance idea might actually be to have her sing with the mic in a crowd on stage, like Rihanna's dancehall VMA segment, and then come the bridge she can ride on one of their shoulders and swing the mic around like no ones business and create a real ATMOSPHERIC performance.
