I can't wait for the new Saw. I've seen (and own) the whole series, but I was always too nervous to see them in theaters. But I will be there at midnight.
I'm excited to see if it's a continuance of the previous story arc or a whole new story.
Have you seen The Strangers, You're Next, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Haute Tension, Frontier(s), Vacancy? Those are awesome and similar to the ones you mention, I'm not a huge fan of paranormal movies either.

Watched "The Purge: Election Year" and meh. I liked it but I guess my expectations were too high since I seriously loved the first and second film. I think my problem with it was that I just wasn't rooting for the main two characters to survive, and that's the whole plot of the movie. I honestly would've rather
Joe and his gang to survive instead of the president and her annoying guard
. Anyways, with that being said, it's still worth the watch. It maintains it's twisted aspect and it was pretty fast-paced so yeah.

Ehhh, Meghan Is Missing is decent at best. It's not what many people make it out to be. As mentioned before, the acting is horrible.
Guys. I'm so basic when it comes to horror. Does anyone else have a thing for plain road movies, especially when a group of young friends come to a haunted house/forest/freakish city etc.? Something like Evil Dead or Cabin In The Woods.
I find Joy Ride, The Glasshouse, Stepfather, Wolf Creek, Eden Lake entire Freddy Krueger series so enjoyable. I personally hate pretentious horror movies or something too supernatural. Any recommendations?

Don't expect any award-winning, well-scripted, incredible masterpieces. These are just fun to watch.
I'm so over the SAW franchise. I think I stopped watching after the 3rd one. It just seems so repetitive. I'll check out the new one, though. Not expecting much.
I understand Sinister 2 didn't do good at all.....but to make the damn movie with a cliffhanger....and not finish the story out? I am absolutely disgusted because I actually liked Sinister for what it was, and this is lowkey pissing me off

Thank god. Sinister 2 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, a complete butcher job of the original. I can't even remember what said cliffhanger was.
Now they can focus a little more on original horrors instead of these ridiculous sequels everyone's putting out these days.
I watched the second and third Purge films yesterday and I quite liked them tbh. I hated the first one but the sequels are really fun and entertaining. It's just unfortunate that they're PG-13.
I just saw The Purge (the original, so I can see the Election one to get it)
And...yikes. Not exactly scary, but just upsetting. Not the movie, the principle of it. The neighbors scene really, really unsettled me even though I knew what was about to happen the MOMENT that conversation with the neighbor at the very start ended.
The Purge is one of those rare movies, that, despite being mediocre in all aspects, manages to really creep one out because of the underlying concept.
I hope they get good writers and a good director for this one.
