You have to knock the ocarina off Skull Kid the first time you meet him in Clock Tower in order to progress, in case you didn't knew.

Okay hennies, I got my Wii U a little over a week ago so it's time to share my thoughts.
Also, the last console I've purchased was the Wii (and I didn't even play it that much) so some of the features might seem basic to you all, but a few are pretty new to me and slayed me right off the bat, so don't judge me.
Alright well from the top, I thought I knew what this console was prior to buying, but realized that I pretty much had no idea once I got into it. I thought the gamepad was just gonna be some cute little thing with extra stuff you can look at while playing, not that it would be such a central part of it all. I saw the gamepad in a few videos and didn't know it was gonna be that big, either, so when I opened the box I was FLOORED. One of my favorite things is that you don't even need your TV on to play, because usually whenever I'm playing something it's on my computer or phone, and I'm just not interested in TV gaming anymore, so the fact that I can just plug in the console, turn on the gamepad and get right into things is phenomenal. It's basically just like a tablet but you get slayful games instead of basic ones. I also had no idea that there was YouTube/Netflix/Amazon Prime/Hulu on it, like WOO. I've already used the YouTube app a few times and it never lagged, froze, glitched or flopped in any way. I also enjoy the fact that so many things are easily accessible, such as the settings and eStore, it's all so incredibly convenient. The battery life is also pretty impressive, as there's been two instances so far where I was on it for 4+ hours straight, and never got any red light.
So Mario Kart 8 was the first game I played since it came with the console and it was just as amazing as it looked in YouTube gameplays. MK is probably my favorite franchise from Nintendo overall and this new addition could possibly be the best of it. The courses, characters, easy steering, simple controls, new additions (items, online mode, etc.) all come together to make a flawless masterpiece. I just got 3D World last night since it was only $19.99 and so far I kinda suck at it. I've also seen that whole game played online, but it's still very fun to do it all myself.
So yeah, overall I have pretty much nothing to complain about so far. I'm definitely planning on getting Super Mario Maker soon, as well as Splatoon and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. I wasn't really sure about Toad since it looked kinda basic, but now that I actually have the console, I think it's a great fit and will definitely be a cute game to pass the time with.

Right? One of the few Zelda games post-OOT that wasn't a rehash Wind Waker was also creative in gameplay. It also happened to be a bit boring with all the sailing, but I still love it for being a little different and for the gorgeous graphics.

Also the series has been serving legacy series for a while now, with all the games either being actual remakes or pseudo remakes like ALBW. Ninty sis...

Right? MM is my favorite game PERIOD, so I'm not quite expecting a new Zelda to top it, but I do at least expect them to start taking more risks. Hopefully the open world design in the NX game will mean other major changes.

Speaking of Zelda...
I bought HWL and although I actually do enjoy it, it's still rough to get past the story mode curve. Same with adventure mode, kinda. I just wanna get to the new stuff and grinding through all the stuff I've already done is draining

ALBW is the spiritual successor to the greatest game of all-time. Hfdu.
I need Link's Re-Awakening before they move completely on from reviving.

Play through on normal first and when you get stuck on a level, either change the difficulty to easy or then try adventure. The game is much, much easier than the average Dynasty Warriors game. The ones for the PS2 were brutal.

I can't remember a single thing about Twilight Princess I have a pretty decent memory re: old games I haven't played in a while, but I really can't remember ANYTHING about TP. Maybe there's a scene where a woman is writing a letter? That's the only memory I have of it. (I waited in line all morning and got it on release day btw.)
