First of all, I was born in the late 90s.

And it's not just slavery, it's voter discrimination during the era of Jim Crow, and not being allowed to get jobs during the New Deal, and black veterans being left out of GI bill benefits after returning from WW2 and subprime loans, and housing discrimination, and the drug war (which was ADMITTEDLY spearheaded by the US government as an assault on black people).

If we want black people to heal and stop using the "race" card, we have to stop pretending like they're supposed to fix everything wrong in their community in 30 years after centuries of subjugation and mistreatment.
