I didn't say SIO has great lyrics, but they are totally fine and have some very good moments.
Doesn't take much to have much better lyrics than 7 Years though.
I agree that Taylor's lyrics should be studied in the future, but there are ~100 songs better suited for that than SIO already.

like, i wasn't trying to criticize shake it off at all. i think it actually has pretty effective lyrics (except for the weird part about the ex man with his new girlfriend...that could go) and i don't understand why people dislike them so much
