Honestly Piece by Piece is something a LOT of people relate to. I have a step-mother who took care of me more than my actual mother did. Listening to this song reminds me of that and how much I appreciate my step-mother. The appeal is that it doesn't have to literally be the father. So many people relate to having a family member walk out on them and it's not everyday that you hear a song from a mainstream artist address the issue. One that's so big in America none-the-less.

Really rooting for this song to be one of the biggest of 2016. No offense to Rihanna fans, but it deserves #1 much more that the mumbled mess that is currently #1

Heard 7 years for the first time. The instrumentals are amazing but the lyrics sound like they were written by a 4 year old. All in all I definitely see the appeal of the song and why it's resonating so much..especially with men. Not a fan but not a hater of the track either.

Anytime there's a non pop mainstream artist single breaking the Waves we have a bunch of whiners talking about how terrible the song is. The song touched me from the first time I heard it and I can see everyone else feeling the same way.

Did I say her music was worst? No I just said they have nerve talking about toddler lyrics when some of her songs are just as simple even though I don't think 7 years lyrics are bad. The song has a great message and is quite unique for radio as you don't here those type of songs on the radio much. I like Taylor Swift music so in no way am I dissing her.

Did i say it was a bad song? no. I don't only stan pop girls or mainstream pop songs btw and I do know quality lyrics when I hear them. I also know when my own favs have written cheesy or childish lyrics LOL. the idea that I cannot be even slightly critical of the songs lyrics is idiotic. I simply stated that the melody was fantastic but to me the lyrics seem scattered and childish. simple. i've seen far worse critics of that song yet you choose to attack me for saying the lyrical content was childish? strange.

the dramatics derive from ppl like dussymob who can't seem to understand that some ppl have neutral opinions when it comes to the song. I don't hate nor like the song. i'm sort of indifferent to it as of now. I actually enjoy competition on charts so i'm glad it's doing well and i certainly understand why it's doing great on itunes.

7 Years is aight for the first few minutes. The song takes a tragic turn when the vocal dramatics towards the end start though.
