I think Gheys don't like him because he stopped being himself and pretty much acts ashamed that he was an openly flamboyant gay. As if there was something wrong with being flamboyant or not masc.
Personally I think it was good for Sam, because there becomes a point where Gay men go beyond feminine as a coping mechanism, and it's good that he's on a better level now.
Call me ignorant, but when a gay is acting more over the top than a Drag Queen it becomes too much. I can't even hold a conversation with some that I meet. It's all "werk, queen, fierce, twerk, YASSS bitch" and all I would have to ask is "How are you?"
