I recommend transferring out of the school (if you feel it's in your best interest) and filing some sort of a report or complaint against that dean. Nobody should be treated like that. I also had a negative experience with my dean at my last school, not to the degree of your conflict, but I just got the vibe that he didn't really care about me and was only the head of a greedy school primarily concerned with absorbing our money. He was aloof and only answered emails if it was convenient for him. He would simply go through the motions of his job, not really caring about the students. I think it's because deans of these universities, and you may have to check me on this, can't be fired and sit comfortably in their positions of high authority. Thus, they tend to become indifferent and way too self-satisfied and egotistical. Wishing you the best, though! I hope we all end up at the right schools for us. Nobody should have to put up with that much mistreatment and ********.

I'm definitely transferring, there is no discussion about that. My financial aid program will cover up to $25k for a study abroad so I would be stupid not to take advantage of that when I can go to London my entire sophomore year for $30k. But after that, I'm transferring to a college in a real city. I can't stand Madison, how small and confined it feels, how the culture is so sports and partying oriented.
Like I understand that dealing with students' problems all day may get tiring but then why are you in that career field? There are SO many ways my dean could've made his point in a perfectly kind and non-aggressive way but he did the complete opposite.

Like Stevie said, try transferring if nothing is being done about this. And as soon as Xmas break happens take as much time as you can to relax. Don't overstress yourself because it'll only make the next semester more tough.
I wish you well for your next semester and hope you do great on your remaining finals

I'm going to transfer after I take advantage of my college's financial aid so I can study a year abroad in London for ~$5k. And realistically, with the hit on my GPA that Chemistry is going to make, I wouldn't have a chance getting into Northwestern or any of the other schools I want to transfer to.
My next semester will have courses I actually want to take: Intro to Media Production, Intro to Film, Human Sexuality (Psych), Social Psych, and Stats for Psych (I'm going to drop one of the latter three classes after the first week). So at least the material will be interesting.
I've spent a good 5 hours today studying for Spanish which I'll finish studying for in the morning. Most of it is simple, just have to not mix up any verb forms. Now I have to start studying for Chemistry which... I don't know. I'm so far gone in that class that I'm just going to make the four note cards we're allowed to bring in, look at some practice problems, skim the chapters, and call it good. Maybe watch some YouTube tutorials. My Spanish exam is at 12:45pm tomorrow and Chem at 7:25 so I'll have about 4 hours between the two to do some more cramming.
