There was a time just a few years ago, and I can't remember the song, but it reached #1 on Top 40 radio and stalled at #16 on the Hot 100. It was after streaming was brought in, and the song went over double platinum, streamed fairly well, and had a lengthy chart run.
This means the peaked at different metrics at different times, and no other formats really played the song much, or not until after it had fallen at Top 40.
Billboard verified that was the first and only time in the Soundscan era (November 1991-Present) a song topped the Top 40 chart and missed the Top 10 on the Hot 100. I think the artist may have been Demi Levito, but I am not 100% sure.
