Nick's not doing anything bad, per se, but Adam isn't lying. Why should we just accept it because he's being nice? It's an obvious strategy to sell and not genuine. People saying "it's better than being hated on"... you're accepting scraps. You're better than that.

As much as I love Nick as a person and his new music, I have to agree with Adam. It always leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth whenever I see straight artists/actors/entertainers trying so hard to please their gay audience by doing stereotypically gay things, especially when they themselves would never engage in anything that they're doing if they weren't trying to sell their brand.

That said, I think it does help our cause a bit in that straights are more likely to listen to other straights who they can actually identify with. Having straight men like Nick or James Franco show public support for us can go a long way.

Some stars rely on girl power and feminism, and some rely on the gays. If Nick is willing to contribute something other than his body to the gay community then that would be great. At the moment I don't really see the issue. He's attractive and it isn't really hurting anyone, but if he's going to go down this route then I hope he engages us with something outside his sesi body.

While it is not necessarily harmful to "pander" to the gays, you can't help but sit back and speculate over the sincerity of it all.

Poor jealous Adam

As much as I understand where Adam is coming from and sympathise heavily with him after how terribly he was treated. The fact remains: pandering = marketing. That's what it is. Every mainstream artist does this - some in more subtle ways than others.

I think if you single Nick out on this, you have to apply that same principle of logic to other artists and I just don't realistically see anyone actually doing that.
