I think this sums up Gaga quite well. She started out as this fierce, fearless girl and then suddenly she became all about her fans and inclusion and the bullied kids. That destroyed her 'cool'.

The context of the album in a pop star's career will ALWAYS be discussed in pop reviews, sorry. Pop girl albums, even when they're disguised as ~jazz albums~ are always as much strategic as they are musical.
