I know some of you religiously listen to Born This Way on an hourly basis but is nowhere near the level of TFM. The only good songs on it are the ones produced by RedOne + Electric Chapel Bloody Mary and Black Jesus
Sure, Born This Way could do with a little trimming, but if The Fame Monster was 17 tracks then I'm sure you'd be able to say the same. Born This Way is her magnum opus thus far, anyone arguing different is blinded by commercial success.
I guess it's all subjective. I personally think it's the worst pop album of 2013 along with Britney Jean.
That needs to be hyperbole. Britney Jean is far worse than ARTPOP, and ARTPOP's highs are better than PRISM's and Bangerz. No songs on those records are as good as DWUW or Applause.

Why would I be blinded by commercial success when Born This Way was huge and the album is currently at 8M WW?

I disagree. We Can't Stop and Dark Horse (overplayed to DEATH now) are excellent tracks that I rank very highly. But Do What U Want and Applause are just below them, excellent tracks in their own right (especially Do What U Want).
Applause & DWUW were better than 80% of Born This Way's singles (only TEOG was better). I'm still shocked as to why they underperformed. Especially DWUW. It should have been the lead single & R. Kelly should have been replaced with Chris Brown.

Because it was deemed a flop and everyone seems to like hating it, and prefers TF/M. And by the looks of your username, that's probably the case.
Actually I hate most of TF and I barely listen to TFM anymore but Summerboy is unbelievably amazing and my username is one of her best lyrics + ARTPOP is my fave Gaga album despite some flaws. So there you go
