The thing that confuses me most, is so many monsters advocate to be feminists and believe in feminism. One of the biggest crusades feminists fight against is rape culture. I get annoyed when some extreme feminists say that when a guy sees a girl with good boobs and slyly checks them out, that's "rape culture." It's not. It's just a guy checking out another girl. But this is rape culture. And it's not the sort of thing that should be exploited or turned into art. Not because it glamorises rape. I don't think any straight guys will watch her video and think "oh damn, that's so hot, I'm going to drug a girl and rape her." That would never have happened. But it's incredibly insensitive to actual rape victims. Girls who've been pinned down in a park. Girls who've got too drunk at college parties and had guys take advantage of them while they're unconscious. Girls who've screamed "no, no, no, please get off me, please, please" while the guy just kept going.

It amazes me how many monsters will speak out in favour of feminism and how bad "rape culture" is, but the second Gaga makes a video like this (with a statutory rapist, I might add) you jump to defend her. It's not cool, ok? You need to stop because rape is seriously so tragic and just because the video doesn't glamourise rape doesn't mean it wouldn't bring up traumatic memories in rape victims who were date-raped, and watched the video.

Do you not realise that some teenage girl who's been date raped, or raped while she was unconscious at party because she got too drunk, might see that on MTV and start hyperventilating and crying because it brings back so many traumatic memories?

I'm not entirely sure I believe that, honestly.

Though another scenario I can see is that she herself scrapped it in wake of the mounting backlash against Terry Richardson, and leaked the snippet herself to TMZ to test reaction.

If Alicia Keys can make a video with her and Beyoncé disappear I don't see how something like this gets spontaneously leaked.
