I still remember when WCS struggled on radio although it was selling exceptionally well throughout the first half of the summer. Radio just couldn't deny the song even though the scores were bad.

Same with Gangnam Style. It was #1 on HDS for WEEKS but the callout scores were terrible. Radio pushed it to #15 overall, and then it fell like a rock.

Are freaking serious? Where did you see the bad scores? Fancy has great scores on Rhythmic (which influences many big pop stations) and OK scores on pop... It definitely does not have bad scores all together. Whatever!

You have to realize that there are pop stations that lean rhythmic, hot ac or are just pure pop.

Also, every market is different. The demographics are different.

Drunk in Love on POP stations in Detroit or LA works. But not in Pittsburgh or Minneapolis.

White people like HOT AC pop music. Latino and Black like Rhythmic pop music.

Unconditionally slowed and peaked in the lower regions of the top ten.

Birthday will probably do the same if the sales don't pick up, but it'll be another top ten radio hit and continue her streak since WUiV.
