Picking album sales or singles is a very simplistic, narrow-minded way to look at it. It depends on each individual artist and situation. You can't just blindly pick a side without looking at it more closely.
For example, Warrior sold more singles than BEYONCE but one era ended with a toilet full of vomit while the other will end with a $200M+ tour, respect and multiple prestigious awards.
I feel sorry for Katy tho. Before ACCLÁIM and Frozen came out, she really had a chance for AOTY. Her only opponents were Gaga (ugly, flop) and Britney (ugly, robot).
OH well. She'll eventually get it. Unlike Gaga, her music is of quality.
She's the only one poised for an AOTY win. Frozen is in a distant second place.
If no one else released an album this year, Frozen would get it over Bey.
Reflektor, and New are the true front runners anyway not to mention Adele's new album.
Beyonce is not the kind of artist that gets two AOTY Grammys, especially when her first win was a mistake.
