I was thinking the same thing, I thought it would be unfair for the EP to chart as the same entry since people were only buying five songs instead of a whole CD, but I didn't think it would chart separately on its own

I don't think her label will allow someone like her to not even get a Gold certification.

Well, her label doesn't even care about her. They care more about promoting Mariah.

Good for Madonna, considering that she's not selling well with her latest albums. If she'll release Beat Goes On, then she'll sure stay where she's at least I wonder if she can reach or pass COADF sales?!

I don't think it will. It might be able to reach at least 1 million at least.

She has a hit so she won't just shamefully drop to the bottom, and with future hits to come it won't shamefully drop to the bottom.

I totally agree...while it wont do well as related to GI2M, the album does have great singles on it. they just need to choose the right ones. Thats the worst thing: when an album has potential but single choices/order doom it to begin with. It will def rebound with the right single choices. Its a great pop album suited for todays audience but wont offend her classic fans.

She's not selling well with her latest albums?! Is that why COADF was one of the ten best-selling albums in the world in both 2005 AND 2006? Is that why Hard Candy's had the best opening sales week this year so far? I think you need to get your facts straight and retract that statement because nobody is selling very well these days and Maddy is one of the few exceptions. Madonna is pretty much guaranteed a million sales in the US, and if 'Miles Away' or TBGO are singles, she will surely reach 2 million. Her tour will help a lot and the album will still be relevant during the holidays so she'll still be selling a lot then.

I agree. Though didn't think about the holiday part, lol. That makes sense too. It seems "4M" will hold the album well over "GITM" unfortunate flop in the US, until we get a 3rd single. I see this having a "Loose" type run/effect.

You're right, but I'm afraid 'GI2M' could damage the album too much, in a way it couldn't be saved later;.

^That's not possible. Like i said "4 Minutes" is still hot in some ears, "GITM" will blow over like "Maneater" for Nelly, then if they're smart they'll pick "Miles Away" for the 3rd single, followed by "Beat Goes On" in the Winter season.

To say its not possible is a little closed-minded but I tend to generally agree with you. Another example is BDAY...Deja Vu was pretty successful, then RTA was a mess and then the album era was saved and then some by the monster Irreplaceable...Im not sure MA or BGO will have that kind of success in the US but I still think either would revive the album sales.

A "Irreplaceable" kind of STORM doesn't happen many times.

Alright, "not possible" may be too straightforward.

"Miles Away" reminds me a bit of "Don't Tell Me"...it'll probably be a hit to the same degree that that song was, and it has a lot of adult appeal too.

I don't think it will "damage" the album, but I don't think it will do well here in the States. As we all know, this song isn't US-friendly, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have a chance at being a hit. I strongly hope that Beat Goes On will be the next single. That will most likely get some good airplay and it could possibly get into the Top 10 in the Hot 100, not to mention that it can help HC's sales.

You know what... You're right, 'Miles Away' always reminded me of another song, and that sonf is definitely 'Don't Tell Me'!

Come to think of it, you are right. This is just like Nelly's situation. Despite hitting #16 on the Hot 100, it didn't make that much of an impact on the chart. Then, Say It Right came along and went to #1. Madge NEEDS to release BGO next, because that could end up like Say It Right. Miles Away should be the 4th single IMO.
