She should just focus on making an album she genuinely loves and stands behind. Something raw, personal and reflective that plays to her strengths of vocal power, soulful delivery and blending throwback with contemporary. No point in playing the other girls' pop game because she will lose - but they can't compete if she sticks to what makes her special.
If I was to imagine the perfect next Christina album, I feel it'd have the fresh R&B-ness of some of Channel Orange, BEYONCE and 20/20...combined with the intimacy and gospel of Stripped and the bright soulful throwback of Back To Basics. I want to hear about her divorce, finding new love, being a mother, body (in)security and staying strong when the world tries to tear you down.
Create something timeless that isn't aiming for top 40 success but is just entirely concerned with being a great record that she will fight for. Nobody expects it to be a success, there's nothing to lose. A critical turn around is easier than winning back the masses...but I feel she's in a good position for that with the feature hits. Slowly but surely.
Yes, I don't want any Your Body's on the next album and certainly not as a lead single. Look at Say Something, an extremely simple song with a simple video and it's absolutely smashing. I pray that she goes in that direction for her next musical venture and realizes that's what best for her and her voice. Even if her next album flops, if it's of good quality it won't bother me that much.
I really wish we got a more back to basics album though. ANOM is one of my Favorite songs ever.
I think it's alright and I can jam to it but if we're talking about commercial success that's not the type of song that's going to do it. I know sales aren't everything but I'd like to see her smash on her own again just once is that so bad

I know what you mean. Just a fool could have smashed it did amazing with only 1 performance, She needs to get a ballad out as the 1st single.

Also, I think she prefers that style of music rather than pop/EDM. She feels better, more confident, more artistic and more appreciated.

I agree. Trying to get pop hits aren't working for her so she should just go all out with her creativity.
I know it's probably not a good move but I want her to give me YB pt 2
she probably working on some acoustic EP, low budget just enough to get buzzes going, but who knows
I'm finally unbanned Fighters! Those monsters that got me banned should thank the Queen for reviving their fave's career. Anyways, I'm really excited for whatever Christina is working on. I really hope it's a piano/acoustic record full of heartfelt ballads with maybe one or two poppy songs. As long as she puts her heart into whatever she's working on, I'm sure it will be perfect xo
Yes! atlast someone who appreciates the craft of BIONIC! i hate those people who downplay BIONIC because of its floppage and messiness as a whole but its production is just top notch
The thing with Bionic is that is very... uneven. In this album alone, Christina delivered some of the best records of her career (like I Am, Elastic Love, Monday Morning, Birds of Prey...) and also some of her worst.

I think the dance thing didn't really work out too well for her because her personal preference of dance is a little different than what's popular. That was more of an electro-pop/EDM/electro house type sound.
She wanted to do more electronica. So when they tried to find a compromise as a single, the results were kind of awkward.
