Well, I though he was cute but was afraid to talk to him and then a girl friend of mine went to him and told him I liked him and stuff.
After a while we started talking, while making physical contact. And the he initiated the first kiss I was a bit desperate though
(It was at an lgbt party)

Die Young was a great single and a fun song in general, but it wasn't a great album seller. There are only two options that could have fixed this issue:

Die Young helped her album sales, it didn't hinder them. Ke$ha was returning from an absence on pop radio and pop culture and considering that she was never a top tier pop girl she had **** riding against her. Can she produce another hit? And she did. BUT the schtick she was selling was mis-marketed. We were all anticipating a different kind of album than what was being delivered and the image being delivered with it felt disconnected. What was she selling? What was her point of view with this record? Her interviews and her look felt mismatched to me but the only thing that worked was Die Young itself. Had Last Goodbye or Supernatural been the lead single instead maybe they could've been even bigger, we'll never know. But Die Young certainly didn't hinder anything.

You need to think about this from the GP's perspective, though. The majority of album buyers aren't stans or even fans of the artists, but the general public. I'm not denying that her long break affected her album sales, it did, but Die Young wasn't the right single choice to bring her back to the public's attention. They wouldn't be checking for her interviews or her look being disjointed, they'd hear the song on the radio and buy the song on iTunes. But when it came to her album release, Die Young didn't give people enough incentive to purchase an entire album full of Ke$ha songs. The GP weren't anticipating something different from Warrior, they had no anticipation at all, and Die Young didn't build that anticipation as much as a lead single should have, that's my problem with Die Young. Anything she could have released would have probably been a hit single, whether it be Die Young, Supernatural, Last Goodbye or even C'mon as the lead single. Having a successful lead single doesn't always translate to successful albums sales, as we saw with Warrior.

What you're not recognizing though is that it was the right single choice because it was the general public that really liked the song, not so much the fans.
And they don't consciously pay attention to whether or not her look or her interviews feel disjointed like we do, but they can tell when something is lacking a point of view because its not that interesting to follow you feel me?
I'll agree that even though I thought Die Young worked, and obviously it did considering it was on track to be another #1 single for her before the tragedy, I'll agree that it didn't excite her demographic (pop stans and Ke$ha fans) enough to hold interest in what else she had to offer. In this case the song worked for the GP more than it did her actual supporters and she couldn't fall back on image because she wasn't even into what she was selling because it wasn't really what she wanted to sell. Her own disconnect with what she was putting forward translated you know. Like I said, maybe if she had released Last Goodbye or Supernatural as the lead instead it would've excited her actual supporters more and also gotten the interest of the GP therefore generating more life into her hypetrain but I mean idk. Die Young wasn't a bad choice imo and its definitely not the reason the era faltered.

She will never sell 3 million copies again. The only people who invest in the music these days are her own fans and pop enthusiasts. Unless she somehow manages to pull a global lead single with multiple hits afterwards to sustain a healthy campaign, then the chances of her having a successful album again are near impossible.
I can see her becoming a niche artist from this point onwards, which isn't bad anyway. She'll do whatever she wants.
