I don't know the percentage but it's definitely not none. Gaga is signed to one of those 360 deals, which means her label is entitled to a percentage of all of her income, including record sales and live performances.

I don't know if Eminem is signed to one, but a lot of major artists are signed to 360 deals these days (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Madonna, etc). Whether he's signed to one or not, he hasn't done a large tour since 2005 so he's not grossing anywhere near the $400 mil Gaga has in the last 4 years.

Something is definetly fishy about eminem's sales though , he's having his biggest drop inspite of a slight increase in sales from his last album and this album being more well received than his last. Am sure some will say 'declining' sales but it just doesn't seem right. We'll wait for third week to see how it does,it will be really telling.

And yes em's a more profitable artist than Gaga in terms of ALBUM SALES,which is what this thread is about by the way.

If anybody should be getting an ICON award it should be Eminem. Not even a big fan but the man has been slaying since 1999. Encore was a hot mess and still went quintuple platinum. Close to 50 million albums sold in the U.S. alone over 100 million worldwide, 13 Grammys, an Oscar, a huge movie...I mean.

Katy isn't, has sponsors (Nokia paid Roar video, Pepsi paid Roar VMA performance,...) and it took Capitol some time before the TD era went break even.

They bought festival and concert promotors and get money from advertising, ticket sales, food sales, parking fees,... They decide whether an artist is allowed to play in an arena, stadium or should be promoted at a festival before going to a venue.
