The paradox is that US economic support was a key factor for Nazi Germany when they were preparing themselves for the WWII in the 30s, developing weaponry and expanding their armed forces.
Many powerful US corporations continued to support the Nazi Germany during WWII out of greed or because they supported the nazi ideologies.
Standard Oil, Alcoa, DuPont, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, IBM, I.T.T., Chase Bank are just a few of many companies that were convincted of collaborating with the Nazis by providing them with new technologies, oil, gas, chemicals, metals and also financial support, what was necessary for keeping the Nazi war machinery going.
Nothing is black or white, you know.

Because it is a nation deeply rooted with inequality, racism, war, narcism and annoyingly over-the-top patriotism & ego. A nation full of sheep which are happy to point the finger, but never to second-guess, challenge or reflect on their own issues or misteps.
A nation that cries "terrorist!", when they, themselves, are a world leader in terrorism & responsible for just as much, if not more, innocent loss of life.
A nation that celebrates illegal occupants as "war heroes" and honors their deaths, when there couldn't be anything further from honorary about it.
A nation that believes they are exempt from the rules & restrictions they force upon others. A nation that violates its own moral compass and the very foundation on which it's built on.
Let me stop here.

But there used to be the Roman Empire, so technically Rome used to be a country- with the capitol city of Rome.
And it has left its imprint on the world. While it was smaller topographically compared to the US, it had tremendous impact on every "Western" civilization that came after it that is still acknowledged and being felt today, and it controlled half of the world known back then to ancient Western/Middle Eastern civilization and culture.
No offense, but the 1000 years Roman Empire >>>>>> USA

My "fave" worked hard to get to where she is. Her own nation also, tore her down, critisiced her to shreds & destroyed her mental well-being. Made her into a cash-cow for media outlets who sold "Britney is fat" covers to millions of fat-ass American women so they could be reassured they could still stuff their faces with McDonald's.
Step down. This topic is bigger than "faves" & "stanning".

ONE THING I WILL NEVER TOLERATE is how people are painted this picture of the USA being a "mosnter" responsible for most of the problems of today's world... I mean, the US has ****ed it up the same way dozens of oter countries have. I never hear people TODAY criticize Germany for the Nazis, or Japan for the Rape or most of European powers for their colonialism... yet the USA gets all their **** shove down its throat... No one ever stops to think (and congratulate) America for the great inventions, their amazing things. I'm not even American, I'm from a little Southamerican country (Uruguay) and I recognize that as much bad things the USA has done, they've done incredible stuff as well that deserves acclaim and doesn't receive it.
As someone said earlier, most of you are here thanks to American inventions, and before someone comes at me for Britain inventing WWW, let's go back to the root of it all and thank Americans for electricity as we know it today. And remember most of us stan for AMERICAN singers... I wish people would take the time to see both sides and not stay comfortable criticizing a country over cliché, overmentioned flaws... All countries have flaws and no matter how ****ed up this ****** world is, it's not the US sole fault. WARS are played by AT LEAST TWO PARTS. And last time I checked, rational-human-beings-run goverments do not decalre war on other country just because its economic sovereignity is being challenged, that's been stupid. Who's more greedy the one intervening for money or the one declaring war just for the sake of keeping it?

People from anywhere else in the world can have pride in their homelands and all of its positives and accomplishments except the US. If we discuss our country as anything more than a broken, war-mongering, capitalistic consumerist cancer on the face of this planet with nothing to offer humanity but suffering we're blind and arrogant. I mean, really? What else do you expect from people defending themselves and their home? And yes, there are a lot of children on this forum that type cringe-worthy ****, what other "water is wet" level news would you like to share?
The point is this country isn't a perfect place -- nowhere is -- but, it's not all bad either. Most American citizens are aware of the down sides of our government, its flawed processes and highly question all of it. This very nation was built by proponents of dissent and freedom -- hypocrisy was also a key ingredient as most of those freedom mongering founding fathers went home to slaves. This nation since its very inception has been so wrong on so many things and still is. We're aware.
But, according to some, America is only war, over consumption, drones over the Middle East, spies, NSA/Homeland Security and fast food -- not home to hundreds of millions who were born, raised or emigrated to and built their lives and dreams here. The majority of us aren't living the awful daily sound bytes that shape your views of this country from afar. It's nowhere near close to being that black and white so, please excuse us blind, arrogant Americans for loving our home in spite of its multitude of shortcomings and highlighting the positives we see in response to completely one dimensional negative criticism.

Which is precisely what makes the hatred and pure vitriol from so many Europeans so incredibly ironic. Rich, I tell ya. RICH.
The USA is still a very young nation. A nation that over the course of the last war torn century found itself in a position of near absolute power -- if not, the closest thing the world has ever seen thus far to such power. And power corrupts. Our government has done some horrific things; power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This has played out that way since the beginning of time.
There was a time when European nations -- especially England -- had such power. Looking back in the history books, would you say that power was used to benefit the good of the world or was it used to further the interests of those in power? If you think the former, there are nations of people in various corners of the globe that would probably beg to differ. Not saying the misdeeds of another another nation absolves the US of its misdeeds; I'm just saying that's one hell of a glass house from which those stones are flying.

I use to preach the same love, but good sis Russia is giving me Nazi teas with that anti-LGBT proaganda I wish the whole world came to terms with the fact that LGBT members have reached the highest numbers ever in terms of popuation and I just don't get why people are so interested in somebody else's sex and love life...
BTW, that's one of the flaws of the US system I can highlight... 14/50 states? C'mon guys, read your constitution

It's because we are so successful and influential.
What has really pissed me off recently are the opinions of some non-US citizens in regard to US intervention in foreign affairs. When we ARE involved, people are pissed (like when we decided to do stuff with Syria) but when we AREN'T involved people get pissed as well (like when we didn't do anything in Syria).
You can't please everyone.

!!!!!!!! See this is exactly what I meant in my hafl-essay-long post. It's so easy to say "THE USA DID IT", "IT WAS THE USA'S FAULT", "BLAME THE USA".... I mean, can't people get their **** together nd stop throwin' dirt on the USA? I mean, it has thrown dirt on itself and we already get it! I'd love to see them do without everything the USA has provided this world with...
