We don't want to go back to the old SYG where we had a specific list of things that could not be used to drag. This was problematic because people kept wanting to add things to the list (if x offensive, y is also offensive) and we spent way too much time discussing the thread's rules. This is why we went to the current version of SYG where we used the umbrella term "shockingly offensive" to be able to warn the worst comments; even though in practice it meant allowing pretty much anything.

This is no longer an option, for various reasons. SYG is going to need more rules and more moderation. It will remain a thread where you can freely post things that would elsewhere be warned for flamebait or trolling. But without all the nasty stuff.

I agree with this.

Something like "Rihanna has more number 1s than X, Y and B because X, Y and B are flops" is normal in SYG. But something like nicole's sig shouldn't be allowed. Simple as that.

SYG will be closed permanently. Perhaps not now, but definitely sometime in the near future. I just can't see it staying around just by adding "more moderation." It's going to need a new lift— something along the lines of Sloth's idea.

Don't forget that ATRL is more creative than that.

Back then it used to be cancer and AIDS jokes that were trending like racist jokes are right now. Ban it and they will just think of something new to drag.

Sorry, I've been posting shady comments for quite sometime, and I remain UNBANNED. Some people can't do it properly without hopping in and out of SYG. So where does this leave you and the others? With or without SYG, I'll be just fine like Mary.
