Katy Perry is three teasers in and she's finally giving fans a taste, albeit a small one, of her new single, "Roar," out next Monday.
On Wednesday (August 7), she tweeted, "This one's for the kittens. It's time to make those meows #ROAR," along with her latest clip. In it, a fluffy white kitten makes her way through an apartment. She gets to a couch, where she plays with a feathery toy. After munching on it, she looks to camera and lets out a big roar.
Katy Perry - "Teaser: From A Meow To A 'Roar'"
Then, the peppy single kicks in. With its "Ooh ooh" chant and toe-tapping beat, it seems like Katy might have an anthem on her hands.
"Roar" is the lead single off Katy's October 22 album, Prism. For the track, Perry reportedly worked with her dream team including Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee, who cooked up hits for her 2010 album Teenage Dream.
However, in previously released teasers, Perry has been putting her candy-coated Teenage Dream days behind her, having set a bright-blue "California Gurls" wig up in flames in one and later attending a funeral for that persona in another. At the time, she shared, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, a new beginning is a must!"
Fans are not only awaiting the full release of her new single, but to also find out what's inside the gold Prism truck that's been making its way across the United States. So far, it's stopped in cities like Kansas City, Denver, Los Angeles (where it made its debut) and Las Vegas.
What do you think of Katy's latest teaser? Do you like what you hear? Tell us in the comments!

That would mean some countries have to wait until Friday (August 16th)
Anyway, I don't want it to be released before Monday.

Or they could get it Friday and only miss ~20 hours of sales rather than ~68 hours by waiting until Monday. :P
I know it's not gonna happen, but a Friday radio release would be really smart. I don't want her to miss 2 days of UK sales.

It's hard to surmise too much from the single's snippet, but the song is clearly an upbeat, quintessentially Katy-sounding song.

Best yet? There’s a few seconds of the song — a “Ro-oh-oh-oh-oh-oar!” hook at the end — that sounds just as mighty.

We can’t say we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of Katy Perry’s new album, but after announcing the release date of Prism, her third studio album, last week, we got pretty excited. And today, well today we simply cannot wait for some new music after seeing Miss Perry’s just released teaser for her new single, “Roar, which will be released August 11.
So head here to watch as a cute little cat enjoys a meaty meal, and quickly turn from a kitten to a lion. Oh, and we also get about 5 seconds of Katy’s new song, and it sounds catchy as hell.

That would be a possibility, but... That would never ever happen
She'd miss 3 days of sales in Germany, too, but since Universal Music Germany posted the teasers without changing the date, I assume it will be released worldwide on Monday...

YAS KATY!!! and holy ****!!! It doesn't really sound like a Dr.Luke production. If I didn't know who produced the 1st single already and I heard snippet for the first time, my very 1st guess would have been Ryan Tedder
That's a good thing! Dr.Luke is not giving Katy his usual generic ****.
