well your fav has more flops than hits in her discography, i highly doubt a soul would bat an eyelid if her 100th 1st single flopped like the 99 before it
and can we also get into how much acclaim Bey had with 4? Not only with the album itself but she had SLEW of highly acclaimed and talked-about performances (Billboard awards, Glastonbury, VMA's)

We're discussing the 4 era and Beyonce stans are now coming up with every possible excuse as to why it flopped, to her standards. Bringing Ciara into this, does not prove your point or bring purpose to your statement. Because just as much as you can shade Ciara, I can shade Beyonce.

I don't think she was devastated about it, but I'm sure at some point she may have felt the album did not receive the commercial reception she expected even if it's critical reception was exceptional.
You can tell that during most of 4's promotional life she was more interested in showcasing the body of work as whole rather than selling the singles themselves. She wanted to sell an experience, not "quick lil singles."
Do you think Beyonce felt some type of way about the singles to 4 underperforming? Me personally I don't think she really cared because this album really showed the growth and maturity of her music. During that time I believe that she was more focused on making a classic album that will be remembered for years to come....what do you guys think?

and again the hives delusion saying 4 was ahead of its time, it sounded dated when it was released in 2011 if 4 were to be released now it would've underperformed even more.
And yes you're right the 4 era was a mess, but yet the hives keep making excuses for it.

RtW got people's attention even if it didn't smash. People were talking about her, praising her performances. Definitely helped her to get that 311K opening (which was a great opening considering the circumstances).
Then in May, like a month after RtW, she could've released EoT & let that smash everywhere, which it would've, over summer 2011. Album in June!
