not really. plenty of sources have reported this. Curious spent years as the #1 selling fragrance. And because it's not $100 per bottle like a lot of name-brand things, it's more accessible to the general public.
remember, during the crazy years, 2006/2007, there were still leaked reports that Britney was making $800k a month sitting on her butt at home (and this might have been one of her lower earning months). I'm guessing at that time, not many people were hankering to smell like her...but she was still raking in the perfume dough
They're definitely just basing this off the campaign run though so I myself don't see it likely. But who knows.
