LordT, if this way Bay-Bay from down the street tweeting it wouldn't be a problem, but because it's Onika Tanya it's an issue.
Sigh, I regress.

Obama has educated advisors to consult him on the state of the healthcare system, there's a lot the general public don't know and there's a reason why he was elected to do his job. He has kept his promises from his campaign plus more, she needs to have a seat, read a book and let him do his job.
You don't see him tweeting her to stop rhyming words with the same word.

I meant that Nicki could just voice her opinion in a more direct way than Twitter
Obama doesn't have to side with her
Gaga met with the President for bullying issues, but its not like Obama had to reluctantly agree with her, just only listen to what she had to say

I don't mean to sound rude, but do you comprehend English? If so you'd understand what she's trying to say.

Unless you just read the title

Okay, it's not exactly an attack, but this is just so random.

But I am being SO serious right now. People continuously abuse the system and wonder why it's so ****ed right now whether it be healthcare or any other type of assistance. I have Sickle Cell Anemia and dish out over $10,000 of my own money towards my medications on a yearly basis and bitches can go to the local hospital complaining about a ****ing everyday headache and get some of the same medications I get for free and never even have to pay for the ****.
My aunt is a E.R. doctor and she says people just come to the hospital to avoid going home or because they're homeless. Don't y'all realize anytime an uninsured person goes to the hospital that comes out of the taxpayers pockets? Even Medicaid only covers a certain budget.
I just think there needs to be an obvious advisement that helps out all people equally, but there needs to be some strict regulations because government assistance has turned into a complete joke... I do wish I could get an EBT card though.

Twitter is not the right platform to communicate with the President, the Senate or the House of Representatives. If she wants something done about the healthcare system, she can call them up or have someone from her team get in contact with them, not too difficult.

She tweeted this because Yvette Wilson from Moesha died of Cancer, and the reason I'm in this thread personally is because I know of family members who have died due to not having the money to afford the proper treatments for Cancer.

What it'll do is influence a lot of her followers to educate themselves on the matter. I'm sure she's well aware of the fact that she has thousands of impressionable fans, and that her tweets weren't only being directed toward Obama

Okay but how the hell do you know she hasn't contacted her team to contact the government? Nicki tweets alot so if this was on her mind of course she is gonna tweet it. I'm sure she wasn't expecting a response from the President but was moreso just putting the message out there so her folllowers can see

I agree about the taxes but it'll never happen with Republicans being the majority in the House of Representatives. I mean it's obvious to tax the rich more and the poor less but it's not that simple, especially with the poor taking advantage sometimes. Like Kay Bee said, there are so many uninsured people (usually poor people because they don't have jobs that offer them and their family insurance) that are getting away without paying the bills leaving it up to the middle class and upper class to pay, but it's really the middle class getting ****ed over because they're struggling.
As for cuts in some areas, the first thing the government cuts from are things like education even though it should be from the military. Another thing they cut from is funding abortions and contraception. It's always an issue for Republicans because they're against it religiously/morally and it's a great opportunity for them to say "why are we paying for this extra unnecessary cause" etc. And if that happens, then you have a bunch of other issues rise, like back alley abortions that lead to complications and death, you have people getting diseases because contraception is not being provided. And if education gets cut, you have strikes, kids on the streets because there are no after school programs and bunch of other **** that people complain about lmao.
Sorry, that's a bit tl;dr but I think people forget just how difficult it is to provide healthcare in such a spoiled country.
If it were possible, I'd be all for it, but I actually don't think the health care system is that bad. It's way better than before Obama. My health care coverage under my parents insurance was supposed to end when I finished college with Bush. But now it's extended until I'm 26 or until I find coverage elsewhere from an employer.

Of course, I agree with both aspects. However, we've got people from both ends screwing the system. We have poor people who screw the system but then we have people in the way upper tax bracket that are screwing the system just as badly. No matter what social class there will always be people screwing over the system for their personal gain. The people that suffer the most, as you said, is the middle class. One of the most dissapointing things during Obama's term is how he let the executives and banks escape on their golden parachute after causing this huge economic disater. Poor people didn't pay for their mistakes, the middle class did.
As for the cutting spending issue, I think we only need minor cuts and mostly in military. I definetly disagree with far right people who want to make major gov't cuts because that will affect our education, transportation, health, safety, etc as well as raising the unemployment rate considerably which puts us in a worse situation economically and our overall standard of living would be lower.
I do think Obama made improvements to the system but I do think there is room for further advancements. I feel the general public is largely misinformed and don't even know what they are completely talking about when complaining about Obamacare and that is coming from both sides that think they are doing too much and those that think they are doing too little.
