Lil Wayne had How To Love as a crossover pop/urban hit though. That does wonders for albums. It's why Loud sold so much more than Talk That Talk, because of What's My Name? imo.

Nicki is in the same boat. Her only hits this year have been Starships, Turn Me On and Give Me All Your Luvin'. The general public think she's another Pitbull/Flo Rida. Most people have no idea her album has songs like Marilyn Monroe or Right By My Side on it.

He didn't abandon his urban audience. "Climax" was a big hit there. However, there was a little emphasis placed more on "Scream." Those type of songs do not sell albums, and it could have possibly alienated some of his fanbase. "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" did nothing for his EP.

WY was mediocre enough, but DJ Got Us and others were truly terrible. I knew they wouldn't gain his career even if they became hits at the time. I don't doubt that his new album isn't bad though.

The album doesn't have a lot of "smashes" though. Euphoria might have to be reconsidered if it's damaging his sales (or songs like it). He needs to release the title track immediately.

Everyone here is just so delusional , this flop was so predictable ... I mean, i've never seen a sellout this big since ... NEVER. Even Nicki Minaj manage to do a 200k with being a big ass sellout.

R&B artist who want to sell albums don't do dance song. Final point. When people will understand this ? The rule major to sell to its fanbase is to remain honorable and remain an artist in his work.

Well I mean Starships and BITT were the only singles released this year. BITT is huge on Urban, but like you said it doesn't have that cross-over appeal.

He sold out with OMG and still sold more than this. And yes many people were on board after "Climax" but "Scream" ruined it.
