Microsoft Begs Sony For Cross-Platform Online Gaming
Quote:
Microsoft has announced it will natively support cross-platform play between Xbox One, Windows 10, and other "online multiplayer networks." The move effectively opens the Xbox Live platform so that it can accommodate players on Sony's PlayStation Network, among others.
The announcement was made on Xbox.com by Chris Charla, director of ID@Xbox, who said "it's up to game developers to support this feature" and noted that players will "always have the option of choosing to play only with other Xbox Live players."
"PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002,” reads the statement from the corporation.
“We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play."
It is, but for some reason playstation players can be mad petty.
apparently it's desperate to want to link the communities?
It's desperate to suddenly want to sponge off of Sonys membership, once your console is failing, yes.
They said it publicly to put pressure on Sony too. It's very desperate.
