Do you consider Greece still a part of Western Europe? Or is she Out?
The country last more than 30% of ha GDP since the crisis began, and per capita GDP dropped below the levels of even some Central and Eastern European countries.
It's literally in the west of Europe so yes. Surely that's a matter of geography as opposed to politics?
Thats correct, people just like to see the west as superior because the eastern part of Europe was under the control of communism which basically divided Europe into two.
If you're definition of Western Europe is a healthy economy, then we might as well exclude Spain, Portugal and Italy.
In a strictly geographical sense, no. Greece is located in Southeastern Europe.
In the way people live, it is more akin to Western Europe than ex-Soviet countries or countries influenced by the Soviet Union. However, there is the Orthodox church and they use a different alphabet so they are distinguished from other Western European countries that way.
Geographically, no.
Economically, no more (though it is debatable whether it ever really was in Western Europe using this criterium).
Politically, it depends.
Religiously, no.
