I don't consider Hungary as an Eastern country. Considering the fact that it was tied to Austria for much of its history, and it did help defend Europe from the Ottomans. But the main difference is this. Do you consider Finland an Eastern country because it was under Russian rule for many years? No right, Finland is a very Western country, and was pressured strongly by the Soviets during the Cold War.
If we have Greece, a country that is the foundation of the Western world. That has more in common with Italy, Spain, and Portugal than Belarus. And was a NATO country, received Marshall aid, and closely allied with the US is not Western enough than I don't know what to say.
