Ok....so my question is quite simple: what do you not like about ARTPOP?

This is NOT flamebait, nor do I want this to turn into some drag fest. All I'm saying is that I'm listening to ARTPOP right now, and I'm falling in love with it again. To be honest, I've always enjoyed the album. However, I know that's not true for a lot of people...and I'm honestly curious, what is it about the album that you don't enjoy? Why does it get a bad reputation? Is it because of Lady Gaga hyping it mercilessly...or does it actually have to do with the album itself?

I honestly want to know. Lets keep it nice.

I respect this answer. I feel the same way about Taylor's RED. I think it has some of her best songs ever, but also some of her worst.

What do you consider the high highs and low lows?

I really don't like Fashion too much, nor do I like Dope (because I don't like the vocals much at all.) but besides that, I pretty much like everything else. Which songs in particular do you not like?

It was such a disappointment. I waited all of 2012/2013 for Gaga to just say something about artpop. I remember when she tweeted the "I wanna be with you" lyrics I lost my mind. And I knew the album was going to be a mess when "Burqa" leaked. My excitement went downhill after that. Still a fan tho.

I love ARTPOP, not being delusional but I love every song on the album.

I love Artpop. I even bought the deluxe album a few weeks ago, and i just looove the whole concept. It's my favorite Gaga album I think. AHS made me a fan again.

I kinda understand the hate of it. It's very loud and the lyrics are deep, wrapped up with catchy pop tunes.

It was presented in a pretentious manner to start. The production isn't that advanced to be truly interesting when there's EDM out there like Jack U and Major Lazer. So, in terms of production, I think it's a little basic and watered down, which isn't too different from her work with RedOne, so this isn't the biggest problem.

My issue is that the album is inconsistent, and, for the most part, the songwriting just isn't there. Listening to Artpop, it seems like Gaga has lost her touch for a good chorus. For example, she ruined the chorus on Sexxx Dreams, the chanting in Mary Jane Holland can hardly pass as a hook, Artpop is too repetitive, etc. For me, the album takes a nosedive after Do What U Want. The title track isn't very satisfying, and Swine and Donatella are both messes. However, I do like some songs on the second half, such as Fashion!, Dope, and Gypsy.

The biggest problem with Artpop is that the bad songs are honestly so glaringly bad that it's hard to ignore, unfortunately. For this reason, it doesn't come close to Born This Way, where Gaga's songwriting was at its best; plus, she managed to fit a lot of different influences and sounds onto that album without losing cohesiveness.

Best: Venus, G.U.Y., MANiCURE, Do What U Want, Dope
Worst: Jewels N Drugs (shouldn't have made the cut), Artpop, Swine, Mary Jane Holland

It's a good album overall, and I would give it a 6/10. It's definitely a step down from her previous work, though.

Because I find the whole forced feeling of trying to bring "art" into pop music to be overbearing and pretentious. She even said "**** you, pop music; this is ARTPOP!" - implying she thinks other people who make pop music aren't even good enough for the title of "artist".

Also, for an album that's supposed to be """"artistic"""", again implying her peers' albums aren't, there were a lot of shallow songs on the album, such as "Fashion!" and "Donatella" - art has many facets, not just whatever the **** a bunch of overrated designers decide to make for rich people to **** their money away on.

She set up quite the expectation with an album called "ARTPOP", and failed to deliver on many levels. She couldn't even be bothered to do a cover of "Vincent (Starry Starry Night)" or something.

It's not about whether or not I like Artpop it's about whether or not Gaga is proud of that album that didn't live up to the hype she made.

The music is terrible and I won't lower my standards and pretend to enjoy it just because it's Gaga.

Although Applause is my favorite Gaga song, Jewels n Drugs, Swine, Donatella, Fashion and especially Dope () are all horrible for me. I do still have Venus/DWUW/Applause on my itunes though.
