Can we talk about US dragging its feet about entering WWII until the Pearl Harbor attack? Talk about "American exceptionalism".

I know this isn't the point of the thread, but even though the U.S. didn't officially declare war until after Pearl Harbor, it was still heavily involved in the years before. The U.S. wasn't just standing idly by while it's best friend Great Britain was involved in all out war. The American people also favored a policy of non-intervention until the war came to American soil, so politicians weren't going to go against what the people wanted.

I agree that it should focus more on the Founding Fathers but wtf, history can be positive or negative. A lot of history is negative so I don't get why they are so pressed about it

APUSH was great. One of my favorite classes I have ever taken and it really forces you to look deeper into American history and all of our flaws. Shame on the Republicans.

You need to EMBRACE your flaws! Ignoring them will just make you ignorant and REPEAT them!

Talk about disturbing. The class is meant to encourage critical thinking of the nattion's history, not just promote it like some propaganda class.

Why do you say that? They are way more beneficial than standard classes and gave me enough credits to basically skip an entire semester. They are VERY awesome.

They are a sham. They are often more difficult than most basic college courses and many colleges won't accept anything under a 5 on the test.

The CollegeBoard is making a mistake if they choose to take slavery out of the curriculum.

How about we're honest about what happened in history and stop trying to focus on parts that only make us look better.
