Lmao i got a 4 on the ap test. I thought the course was cool and forced you think critically, and all aspects were pretty much covered equally. Except the korean war and forward, we did that in like 2 weeks before the AP test

Let's just teach them all the bad things we did as a country and leave them with no sense of national identity or pride. You have to do both and there is limited time. So each side fights for their slice of it.

The only involvement the U.S. had was selling weapons... to both side of the war.
Oh, and private banks in the U.S. financed the Nazis.

It's not about pointing out the good things. It's because they also forced College Board to favor republican views. They prohibited the test from calling Reagan's approach as "bellicose" when it was very much bellicose. Instead they told them to write about how brilliant he was and how he was hard on communism... which he did by being bellicose, but whatever. They also urged them to not focus on slavery and are prohibiting them from using certain words. Also not to mention that the U.S. didn't truly win WWII. They want to call the U.S.' victory when in reality it was the allies' victory, and most of it was thanks to Russia.

Sham or not, I was able to double-major AND do a 5-year BA/Master's program because of all the time and credits they saved me, so I guess they can still pay off

Oh, and my APUSH teacher truly taught me to write essays and support my arguments with good evidence. I truly do owe her (and to some extent, the course) a good chunk of my success in college.

The test is already whitewashed as f*ck. My APUSH teacher already clocked that when I took the test a few years ago. Now they trying to put a focus on the founding fathers and WWII. White america really is something else. Let me make sure my sister doesn't take this course.

Yes, let's recognize those founding fathers who could not recognize the Native's rights to their own land because they weren't white. Who drove them to near extinction. But they were great, and they gave you freedom... If you were white... and a male.

What so wrong about seeing the past for what it was? Instead of looking at it and saying "it was great, and we're even better now" then learning about all of the horror that took place and getting disillusioned. I think it's better for patriotism to look at the past and say it was horrible, but look how far we've come.

They shouldnt even be pressuring people to do anything.
