I know for a fact, the the US has a huge influence when it comes to media. Amd Hollywood has shaped how people view the world, such as minimizing the efforts of Russia in WW2 an so on.

But there has never been a communist state ever, not even a real socialist state (please read the Communist Manifesto by Marx it's really short). Now the common arguments are "unfair wage". Such as a doctor making the same as a factory worker. But there would be no need for wages since basic human needs are covered, anything more is a luxury that can be attained by anyone. There would be legitimate equality, and the workers own their own business so its not anyone above them (this removes CEOs making millions at the hands of lower employees making very little).

Many people then look at the Soviet, China, North Korea, and Cuba. But anyone who has tried to understand the basic concepts of communism will see they're not communist, not even close. China is a capitalist country through and through.

Reason is because it could never work out in reality.

Same could be said about every system.

Democracy means that power is vested in the people. But there's a thing called "tragedy of the commons", where people look out for their self-interest. This can lead to a situation tyranny of the masses. Democracy thus fails.

Capitalism makes it so that people have the opportunity to create wealth. But what happens when you have a society that makes it hard for people who are not the "majority" in race, religion or sex? It creates an inequality, thus people can't socially mobilize, this causes a class that always reaps wealth.

Both of these systems are things that seem nice, but can easily fail as it can't work in the real world. Sp I don't get your argument.

Because communism is a failure. It only leads to widespread tyranny, starvation and bloodletting.

It never happened. We never saw communism work, just bad attempts at state capitalism.

What people above have said, but also because most don't even know what the word means. Go out and ask if it's bad, most would say yes but ask them WHAT is communism and the majority wouldn't know. Same with socialism, ask them to explain the system and most would stumble.

Supposedly communist countries opposed America in the past, so anything that opposes America is inherently bad

Because there are 90 guns for every 100 people in the US. Americans love their guns to keep the neighbours and the state off their lawn.

The idea of having to share or take care of fellow citizens is scary to them. Not to mention when the state is doing that through wealth redistribution.

The problem with Communism is that the ruling Communist Party in effect become the new Aristocratic Class. Then the level at which you prosper in society is determined by what connections you have in the Communist Party. Communist states have always seen the ruling bloc becoming corrupt with bribes, kickbacks and embezzlement. Then when a new power bloc takes over, they purge the previous corrupt officials and it starts all over again.

The ideology of Communism seems to break down in reality, as those in power take advantage to give themselves and their cronies extra privileges over the average person. I am not sure if this is a failure in the ideology or just a reflection of the inherent corruption that occurs when people cannot rise to power due to merit but only by trading favours.

Except we are not a Democracy either.

Democracy and Communism only work on paper human nature takes over and will corrupt both.
