I was wondering if anyone has received racism because their name/surname do not seem white or native enough.

I tried an experiment, I added a resume in monster called "James White" with a few less skills than the one I have under my real name, and I got 3-4 emails from recruiters while my real resume got 0.

Why is it so? These offers weren't super good or anything but it still seems fishy... is racism by name real?

Oh stop we all do it. No matter the race, you hear a name and say "they're probably *insert race here*"

and? is that a reason not to hire people? I find it disgusting

Never experienced it but where I live I can't imagine it's very common when it comes to employment as there's a shortage of workers here.

If you want to get a job go to a recruiter in person and impress them and they will work to get you a job. Maybe you don't have that as an option where you live, I don't know but if they place you they make money, so it's in their best interest.

This is simply a fact, unfortunately. Even if the skills/experience are the same, ethnic-sounding names get less callbacks.

Well when I was in the States and I said that my name was Giorgio they were all like wtf you look American/Swedish but that's not racist I guess
